Episode 23: Kalen Allen on Fame, Identity & Learning To Heal podcast
Tune in this week with TT, GG & DD as we’re joined by therapist, Tosin (@therapy4usbyus) who has been hitting these podcast streets! But it’s amazing because the work that a Black male therapist is doing in our community cannot go unnoticed. We speak about the familiarity that comes with booking a therapist that is relatable because they understand your culture.
GG asks Tosin about how got started in therapy and why he chose trauma as his speciality. DD ponders the question of, how as a therapist are you able to not take on the mentally the issues of others? TT talks about how its hard for Black men to want to go to therapy.
We then get a little personal… we’re individually having a therapy session with Tosin. DD speaks about his challenges with seeking help from family. GG discusses abuse and how it can affect raising her daughter. TT challenges herself to getting out her thoughts and feelings through journaling and being intentional.
