Episode 2 focuses on HIV rates among black women in America. Host Vanessa Tyler talks to Masonia Traylor, who has been living with HIV for 10 years. Masonia explains that many black women are unaware of the risks of contracting HIV and don’t understand safe sex negotiation. She says HIV is stigmatized in the black community, making it difficult for people to get tested or treated. Masonia shares her personal story of contracting HIV from a partner she trusted.
