USA Today recently published an article referring to ESPN’s Samantha Ponder as a “bigot” for having the sane opinion that men shouldn’t compete in women’s sports. Ponder’s tweet in support of NCAA swim champion Riley Gaines, who has been outspoken about her experiences competing against William “Lia” Thomas, reignited the smear campaign against anyone speaking out against trans women in women’s sports. Of all the women and former male athletes with ESPN, Samantha Ponder and Sage Steele remain the only two personalities to speak publicly about what Jason believes is one of the biggest issues plaguing sports today. Why are athletes who know men are physically superior to women not speaking up? Where are the men of ESPN on this issue? “Every male ex-jock at ESPN knows it’s unfair for biological boys to compete against girls. They’re experts on the topic. They know far more about competing in athletics than they do about law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and American history. They can’t wait to hop on television to second-guess law enforcement. They can’t wait to offer bold opinions about subjects they know very little about. But boys competing against girls? Silence.” Steve Kim and Shemeka Michelle join “Fearless” to discuss the madness. Plus, Steve and Jason discuss Scottie Pippen’s recent remarks burying his teammate, Michael Jordan. What’s got Pippen tripping? And Shemeka tries to make sense of the viral trend of prank videos and the dangers of trying to punk complete strangers.
