Shahem shared his expertise on the impact of patriarchy on both men and women, explaining how societal norms that center around men can be harmful to everyone. He emphasized the importance of emotional attunement and the ability to fully feel and process one’s emotions. We discussed the challenges men face in seeking therapy and the common criticisms Shahem encounters in his work, particularly from men who feel that women are not held accountable in the same way.
