A Dove Tale!  Elizabeth Thorn Scott Flood was a 19th-Century Black American educator and activist.  Known as “the mother of desegregated education,” Ms. Flood opened her own schools for non-white children in California because the public education system did not allow non-white children to receive an education.  Ms. Flood battled the State and won, paving the way for integrated schools throughout the state.
