Have you ever wondered why its so hard to find women services in your area?
DeAndria is the founder and executive director of the BattleBetty Foundation. After finding herself homeless in South Carolina and recognizing the huge gap in services for women veterans, she founded the BattleBetty Foundation to help fill in where other services have failed miserably.
She is a disabled Marine veteran who after several attempts to look for support and being told "no" by "veteran friendly organizations", decided to help herself and other women veterans with the BattleBetty Foundation – a place to get direct services, mental health support; and camaraderie with other female veterans. It serves the community by providing female hygiene kits, conducting peer-to-peer support sessions and through community outreach with the VETS-mas event .
