DuBois, Paul Robeson, Sidney Poitier, Nina Simone, Langston Hughes and more! Lorraine begins her career writing for the newspaper “Freedom” and becomes the first Black woman to have a play performed on Broadway in 1958, A Raisin In The Sun. And the whole time the FBI is investigating Lorraine claiming she is anti-American because she was fighting for Black Americans’ equality and equity.
