A coalition of 20 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C., has filed a federal lawsuit against the USDA over a new demand for personal data on SNAP recipients—asking for five years’ worth of names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, addresses, and immigration status. The states contend the request violates privacy laws, risks misuse for immigration enforcement and undermines trust that vulnerable families have in the program. The USDA argues the data is necessary to combat waste and fraud and has warned that non-compliance may result in losing SNAP funding.

On the Question of the Day, a Black woman’s video claiming that white men treat Black women better than Black men frames a discussion on dating experiences—prompting DL to ask: do listeners agree. Finally, D.L. covers Donald Trump’s public criticism of radio host Charlamagne Tha God, who shot back on The Breakfast Club, accusing Trump of authoritarian tactics and hypocrisy on economic issues after Trump labeled him a “dope”—a spat laden with cultural and political undertones.
