What do you think of when you hear the term “having thick skin?” We hear it all the time about how we have to be strong and learn not to react to everything or take things personally. If you’ve ever tried to do this then you know it’s easier said than done but still an important skill to have and learn regardless. In this episode, we focus on what it means to have thick skin, how to work on it, and our own experiences with it. It’s not about never letting things get to you but rather working on what situations deserve a response from us and learning about the other people involved. When you work on it like a muscle, you start to learn about your resilience and how much these situations don’t have to hurt. You learn that you have more power than you think and that’s what is going to carry you through.
