RSMS Hour 4 | Method Man joins the cast of “Different World” reboot podcast
In this SonRise Project episode, creator Kelli Richardson Lawson introduces therapist Danielle Boucree who is also a clinical social worker with a specialty in family therapy. She says anxiety disorders are the most common mental health disorder in the United States. Sadly, only one third of those affected realize what’s happening, take steps to find treatment and report it to their doctors early. Danielle says anxiety also affects our children. While it’s widely understood that adolescence is a stressful time for most teens, there’s a significant difference between average teen stress and anxiety.
Anxiety is a sustained mental health disorder that can be triggered by stress. It doesn’t go away once the threat is mediated. It hangs around for the long haul and gets in the way of our children’s normal functioning at school, work, with friends or even in their activities. Danielle Boucree leads listeners through an honest discussion on anxiety, what it is and how we can identify it in our sons and daughters.
