Three days until Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn in the two highest offices in the U.S.A., and Omar Moore’s concern about the safety of the upcoming inauguration has not abated. On this 60th anniversary of the “military industrial complex” farewell address by outgoing U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower (January 17, 1961), Omar looks back at how the words of a general in that farewell speech have blown away in these intervening sixty years in the U.S., right up to the present day, with the highly militarized presence around the U.S. Capitol Building.
