Do you know who the FBI and Department of Defense says the single biggest threat to the safety and security of America is?
It’s damn sure not drag queens?
It’s conservative white supremacists.
But somehow, instead of thinking about how they can address the violent racists in their own home, conservatives have decided to do what they always do… play a dangerous smoke and mirrors game where they make their base think the biggest threat to them, and to their kids in particular, are people dressed up in drag.
This is what they always do. They used to focus on Muslims, then immigrants, then someone else, and someone else, and now it’s drag queens, but it’s all a dangerous ruse to get their base riled up and angry.
And I think it could bring real harm and violence upon people who don’t deserve any of it.
Let me unpack and explain it.
