Sources tell CBS News the White House is expected to recommend COVID booster shots for nearly all Americans who got one of the two-dose vaccines. The Taliban is tightening its grip on Afghanistan, and many American citizens remain stranded. President Biden defended his decision to withdraw the remaining U.S. troops from Afghanistan, in his first public remarks on the Taliban takeover. Tropical Depression Grace caused flooding overnight in Haiti, in areas already hard-hit by Saturday’s earthquake.
