In this episode we sit down with Nadine. In 2006, Nadine’s life was changed forever with the diagnosis of Autism for her then 26-month-old son, Nassan. Once Nassan was diagnosed, Nadine changed her career path and embarked on a journey to help families affected by Autism. She started a non-profit called Nassan’s Place, inspired and named after her son.
Established in 2012, Nassan’s Place, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers access to affordable, educational and recreational programs, support services, emergency assistance and other resources to families impacted by autism in and around under-served inner-city communities. Nadine knows firsthand the challenges an autism diagnosis has on the entire family and ensures that Nassan's Place supports the child with autism as well as their parents/caregivers and siblings.
