She is a highly regarded autism advocate, award-winning author and parent. Her best-selling memoir Hold on Tight: A Parent’s Journey Raising Children with Mental Illness is brutally honest and describes her emotional, non-stop roller coaster story parenting two children with multiple co-occurring conditions.

Together they discuss Jan's heartfelt journey with her two children, Andrew and Ainsley, who have multiple co-occurring conditions.

Jan shares her family's experiences. Her mission is to inspire and empower parents, caregivers and families to persevere, have hope, and know they are not alone. Jan chairs the Board of Directors at Kerry’s Place Autism Services, Canada’s largest autism services provider, and writes a monthly column on autism for Today’s Parent. She spent most of her career as a senior Partner with the global executive search firm Egon Zehnder.
