Jackson police have arrested a suspect and an accomplice in connection to a shooting that killed a woman and injured a man. Zverian Brent, 29, was taken into custody Thursday. Police said he is suspected in a Tuesday morning shooting on Fleetwood Drive. Police said Terrencia Jackson, 26, and her boyfriend were laying in bed when shots rang out. Jackson was shot multiple times and succumbed to her injuries. Her boyfriend was taken to a hospital. Police said he was later released from the hospital. After further investigation, detectives determined Vaita Valentine, 28, assisted Brent in evading law enforcement. She was arrested Wednesday around noon and is charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder. Brent was denied bond during an initial court appearance.
