Dr. Brené Brown’s book The Gifts of Imperfection, teaches us not to change ourselves to adapt to expectations, instead, we should embrace and engage with our imperfections. The core insights center on empathy, understanding, and adopting “wholehearted living,” so that we start living for ourselves, and not for other people.
I share my story of how letting unrelenting standards and unfair expectations of perfection began to shape my beliefs — I thought my worth and value was connected to how others validated and accepted me. Shame kept me trapped, but hope freed me.
Join me as we figure out how to live wholeheartedly, embracing the gifts of imperfection.
