[Ep 24] And Then I Understood Compassion (Holding Broken Systems Accountable)

Black Podcasting - [Ep 24] And Then I Understood Compassion (Holding Broken Systems Accountable)

Following recent and continued events of people being treated as subhuman, Mari Jay take time to discuss the importance of leading with love, empathy, compassion, and the Golden Rule to treat others as one wants to be treated. In addition, opening up about frustrations with failed systems, implicit bias, lack of advocacy for the disadvantaged, and growing distrust with authorities of power. Topics discussed include employee expectations, human kindness, basic rights, public service, homelessness, and disabled persons.

Note: At the time of this recording a referenced public figure was actively dealing with a missing family member. Mari Jay wished the best for the affected loved ones and hoped to update this status with good news 🤎. Unfortunately, as of 03/01/22, this goal was not met as a tragic and less desired outcome was shared with the public. We want to extend our condolences and support. Please consider donating to the Black and Missing Foundation and/or African American Alzheimer’s and Wellness Association.
