For the first time in 25 years Mikey travels back to Guyana, his mother’s mother country and meets his dad.
Tune in for part 2 of this Indie episode where Mikey reveals what it was like returning to Guyana as a man, connecting with his cousin, seeing his granny in her element, and finally having the nerve to meet his father.
What was meant to be a one time adventure turned into Mikey and his dad spending every day with each other, which allowed Mike to feel like a little boy again.
For the first time in his life, Mikey shares a beer with his dad, shares a car, finds out his dad can sing, and tells him he loves him. The re-introduction was divine and the time together blessed and healed a wound that Mikey thought would never close.
Later Mikey shares a final message to his dad and then baby Noble before closing out the episode.
